**Director of Enterprise Architecture**
Overview: Join our Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group, established in 2023, to empower our customers and colleagues with secure and reliable digital experiences. Reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO), you'll drive our digital transformation by crafting and executing a comprehensive architectural vision aligned with our long-term business objectives.
As the strategic architect of our digital landscape, you'll integrate cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions to future-proof our business. You'll shape and communicate a clear architectural roadmap that enables scalability, agility, and efficiency across the organization. This role requires strong interpersonal, influencing, and strategic thinking skills to anticipate industry trends and translate them into growth opportunities.
In summary, the Director of Enterprise Architecture is a strategic partner in steering our organization towards a digitally empowered future, ensuring enterprise architecture is a cornerstone of our competitive strategy.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and execute the digital roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Guide technology investment decisions and ensure business-IT alignment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate needs into the digital roadmap.
- Lead the enterprise architecture team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Establish governance frameworks and ensure architectural consistency.
- Monitor emerging technology trends and assess their impact.
**Screening Criteria**:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership and change management experience.
- Knowledge of business ecosystems, software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
- Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
- Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at enterprise level.
- Knowledge of all components of EA, business and IT principles, and processes and tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Strategic leader and builder of both vision and bridges, and able to energize the appropriate teams in the organization.
- Ability to lead and motivate the other architects and other technology teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Bilingual in both official languages (French and English).
**Compensation Details**:
- Salaries typically range from $127,380 to $169,838 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.
**Location**:
- Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
- This role may be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hub in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, or Laval.
