Applications are invited for the regular position of part-time Dental Clinic Receptionist in the Health Sciences Division. The starting salary is $24.05 /hr for a 12 to 24 hour work week. Additional hours may be required at peak times during the year such as start or end of term. The position is located at the Welland Campus.

This position provides support and assistance for the dental clinic manager, dental clinic, all dental clients, full-time/part-time clinic staff and students of the Dental program(s). The incumbent will assist in the preparation of all preclinic and clinic client documentation.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Prioritize responses to messages
- Verify that items are prepared for next clinical session and transfer all appointments to Dentrix
- Fill openings in schedule and confirm any outstanding appointments
- Document any cancellations in charts and fill spots from short-call or waiting list
- Document new client cancellations
- Invoice all unpaid accounts and balance day-end revenues
- Overall organization of the reception area of the clinic (maintaining current records, files, log / appointment books, archive as required)
- Prepare and maintain client and student documentation (files, charts, appointment books, student binders)
- Demonstrate procedures to students on business rotation; sign-off evaluation sheets & provide feedback as appropriate: demonstrate infection control policies and emergency protocol

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum one (1) year certificate in Dental Office Administration or similar field of study
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a dental office or office management
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven abilities in working independently, exercising initiative and good judgement, sensitivity and confidentiality
- Proven time management, organizational, and communication skills
- Previous experience at a post-secondary level or training role within a healthcare setting will be considered an asset
