**Responsibilities**:

- Analyze project specifications, drawings, addendums and related documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labour estimates.
- Develop detailed, accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous steel projects, including field estimates, by thoroughly reviewing project documents and requirements.
- Conduct sites visit to gather additional information on existing conditions when necessary.
- Identify potential risks or challenges with the project's size, nature or timeline.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain essential information.
- Review and evaluate subcontractors’ bids to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive estimates and review them with management before submission.
- Prepare accurate quote letters, including a scope list, necessary qualifications and exclusions.
- Provide detailed cost breakdown and separate prices when required.
- Maintain estimating standards, processes, and best practices within the organization.
- Build and maintain a good relationship with clients, respond to queries about the estimate, and provide clarification.
- Review and adjust estimates based on project changes or client feedback to ensure accuracy on time
- Follows up on quotations to determine status and secure projects.
- Organize and maintain records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference.
- Provide technical support to the project managers when required to ensure that all projects are completed as efficiently and accurately as possible.
- Monitor project costs against estimates during execution to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Attend virtual and in-person client meetings when required.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in estimating, ideally within the structural steel and miscellaneous steel sectors, including commercial and light industrial industries.
- Field experience and field estimating expertise are an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents accurately and efficiently.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent understanding of construction processes, materials, labour requirements, and industry standards.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, solution-driven, and eager to learn.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Dedicated team player.

Pay: $58,200.00-$73,800.00 per year
