**Summary description**:
Responsible for leading the team of drivers to support reaching the daily targets for safety, delivery, quality and cost. Deliver training and follow up with the team to ensure that all members of the transport team follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with the LOTS health and safety program. Responsible for prioritizing the repairs and maintenance of the fleet. Work with the Operations Manager and Workshop Manager in the day-to-day oversight of the workshop staff where applicable. Review daily deviation reports and provide corrective actions ensuring compliance to operational standards.
**Key activities**:
- Responsible for leading the team of drivers to support reaching daily targets for safety, delivery, quality and cost
- 100% trucks available for planned shifts
- 100% Drivers available for planned shifts
- Manage daily deviations to targets effectively with the support of the Operations Manager
- Organize the daily work of the transport team
- Onboard and train the team of drivers in LOTS operational standards
- Ensure that the driver team meets LOTS operational standards and practices
- Responsible for handling anomalies/occurrences during the shift
- Ensure compliance with the LOTS safety program (emergency response plans, safety meetings, inspections, assessments)
- Ensure compliance with CVSE (commercial vehicles safety enforcement) including pre trips (equipment checklist), hours of service and fit for duty
- Provide training and ongoing support as needed of electronic logbooks
- Monitor and evaluate driver performance using the LTM and Navistream dashboards
- Liase with the stakeholders to solve operational problems related to transport the operation
- Track loads as required to support invoicing
- Coordinate the repairs and maintenance of the transport fleet with the support of the Operations Manager and the Workshop Manager
- Hire transport team staff the ensure all owned trucks are utilized
- Ensure the resources are being productive and optimized
- Ensure the driving team reports deviations
- Review and resolve deviations with the support of the Operations Manager.
- Coordinate driver evaluations according to the standards
- Responsible for performing other activities required by the company inherent to the position
