Day Camp Companion

**P**rincipale fonction**- The companion (for special needs children) is responsible for integrating any physically or mentally camper(s) with adapted needs. They are assigned to her or him into the day camp activities program.
**Schedule**- Monday to Friday
- 35 to 40 hours per week
- June to August- **Key Responsibilities**- Integrates the child into the assigned group;
- Helps the child become as autonomous as possible;
- Encourages interaction and friendship with her or his peers;
- Encourages the child to take part in as many activities as possible;
- Provides additional help and attention, if necessary;
- Helps enforce camp rules;
- Keeps a list of medications when required;
- Carefully supervises the child at all times (especially at the pool and on outings);
- Communicates with parents;Performs any other related task.
**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**- Experience working with special needs children
- Bilingualism (French and English spoken and written);
- Good communicator with demonstrated enthusiasm for working with youth;
- Ability to work in a team setting;
- Organizational skills;
- Can adapt, open-mindedly, to various unforeseen situations.-
