Quality Control Technician

As a member of the Quality Team, the Quality Technician is responsible for all aspects of product testing and production monitoring to ensure that products meet food and quality specifications. Duties are performed through equipment, auditing techniques, inspection, and testing method, in addition responsible for HACCP program support, CCP verification, and documentation management.
**Responsibilities**:
- Follow the responsibilities of a HACCP team member to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications
- Responsible for monitoring, and programming critical control points (CCP).
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on raw materials, in-process, and finished products according to HACCP plan requirements
- Develop and maintain inspection reports
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment
- Participate in regulatory audits (internal and external), follow-up, and issuing corrective actions based on deviations found
- Verify process procedures on regular basis to ensure compliance of finished product and raw materials to established specifications
- Responsible for monitoring product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.
- Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation.
- Ensures employees are following all GMP, Food Safety, and worker safety practices.
- Ensures and educates employees on food safety
- Ensure ongoing procedure compliance according to Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirements
- Perform pre-operational check to make sure that no hazards exist before the production starts
- Create and maintain QA control documentation.
**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing plant is an asset;
- Preference would be given to those coming from meat/poultry processing environment;
- Superior communication and organizational skills;
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task;
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is an asset;
- Must be able to lift to 50lbs;
- Must be able to stand for long periods;
- Must be comfortable working in a moderate to the cold working environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
