- Preference will be given to those registered as a full-time student, intending to return to school in the fall for post-secondary education in Office Administration, Marketing & Communications and/or Public Affairs and Development.
- Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
- Availability to work flexible hours as needed for meetings and events outside routine office hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience assisting with fundraising events, communication strategies and/or volunteer coordination as asset.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle considered an asset.

Functions / Duties (not in order of importance of area of focus):

- Provides assistance with front desk reception duties, handles telephone and public inquiries and refers to appropriate authority as necessary.
- Assists with the organizing and execution of the Foundation Events, such as CKHAF's Annual General Meeting, Annual Charity Golf Tournament, Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraisier and other community events by providing assistance to the Manager of Development.
- Assist with marketing and communications, including prospect research, designing promotions for events and other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Communication's Officer.
- Assists with donor stewardship activities which include thank you calls, thank you letters, and additional duties as assigned.
- Assists with the tracking of volunteer support/hours.
- Attends Foundation special events and assists as required.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality in all aspects of Foundation and Hospital activities.

Other Responsibilities:

- Act as an Ambassador throughout the Community, positively representing the Hospital and the Foundation.
- Work as a team player promoting a positive and professional work environment and conduct role with integrity and respect.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation. Note: during peak special event times, workload and emphasis of department may shift. Assistant must be able to adapt to change as required.
- Abide by the policies and procedures of the CKHAF and CKHA.
- Abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and work in a manner that is safe, reporting incidents immediately to direct supervisor.
- Operate within culture and core values of the organization.
