**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of SOCC and Planning or their designate, the Crew Planner is responsible for various crew planning tasks, such as managing crewing levels and vacation assignments, overseeing crew travel and accommodation, and providing guidance to crew schedulers. The role requires expertise with crew scheduling software and coordination with co-workers, crew members, and other company departments. The Crew Planner must work a flexible schedule, including holidays, weekends, afternoons, and night shifts, as service needs demand. The work environment is ever changing, fast-paced and deadline-driven, with potential overtime and occasional travel. The position requires mínimal supervision and is primarily based in a typical office environment. It involves physical tasks such as sitting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
**Primary Job Functions**:
The duties of the **Crew Planner **include:
- Attend planning and scheduling meetings
- Enter monthly schedules into our operating system
- Assign monthly days off for crew members
- Create monthly pairings in compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), the Company Operations Manual (COM), the Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS), and other relevant policies
- Develop monthly crew rosters according to CARs, COM, FRMS, and Collective Agreements
- Manage the annual allocation of aircrew vacation by preparing, distributing, and collecting vacation bid package
- Work with the Pilot and Inflight training departments to assist in the development and scheduling of classroom, ground, and simulator training
- Analyze future schedules to assess crewing and budget impacts
- Contribute to staff planning and provide recommendations for crewing levels
- Provide support to crew schedulers
- Provide excellent customer service and support to all crewmembers, ensuring respectful workplace practices and providing accurate policy, procedural, and regulatory information
- Fill in for crew schedulers during their vacation, illness, or as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the company time to time
**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- ** Education**:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) as it pertains to commercial air operations
- **
Experience**:
- Three years of experience in a similar role, previous aviation experience is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in stressful environment and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and data entry
