Architectural Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Package Design & Sales Team as an **Architectural Manager.** Reporting to the Director, Marketing
- Sales & Service in this role you will lead the team to provide professional design, drafting and material estimating services and support the Beaver Homes and Cottages program, as well as Home Hardware’s Project Packages program.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Have a clear understanding of the minimum building requirements as outlined in the National Building Code of Canada and various Provincial Building Codes and their effect on the projects that we complete for our stores nationwide.
- Maintain a high-level working knowledge of residential, agricultural, and commercial framing techniques, and the use of new construction materials.
- Establish priorities as they relate to deadlines and deliverables.
- Monitor and ensure that the quality of work completed is that of high standards, meets the appropriate building code requirements, and follows the specifications requested by the Dealer.
- Offer guidance and advise Dealers, sales consultants, and staff regarding construction challenges.
- Communicate with professional contractors on behalf of store’s, and consumer’s, to resolve challenges during the building process. Communicate with Building Officials/Authorities to resolve issues on store’s behalf.
- Provide technical support to store staff consisting of construction knowledge and building techniques, construction products, and software common between stores and our team.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Post
- secondary education in Construction Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Architecture, or Engineering.
- Licensed Architect, Professional Engineer (PEO) or accredited as a house designer by the province with a BCIN number (Small Building or House).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a large team of professionals consisting of CAD designers, estimators, and specialists.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada, and the subsequent provincial building codes.
- Strong understanding of structural load calculation, & transfer.
- Strong understanding of units of measure (Imperial & Metric).
- CAD Software (Ideally Softplan/Softlist), ForteWEB, Weyerhaeuser Software.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
