THE ROLE
Reporting to the lower yard supervisor/operations manager, the delivery truck driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the delivery truck. The delivery truck driver delivers compost, soil, and mulch to customers across the sunshine coast.
DUTIES
General
- Attends safety meetings if scheduled. Independently follows up on safety meeting notes signing that they have read and understand what was discussed
- Steel toe boots and a high visibility vest are required at all times
- Safety glasses required when outside the machine
- Follows all Salish Soils policies and procedures

Delivery Driver Duties
- Follows unique customer requests where to dump compost, soil, much, or aggregates while keeping the truck and oneself out of harms way
- Operates truck in a safe and appropriate manner to not injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others
- Understands and works closely with the office to deliver compost, soil, and mulch to customers in a timely manner
- Maintains the required license to drive a truck
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment including routine cleaning
- Assists the operation team with tasks as required including but not limited to
- Sorting through mixed construction and demolition loads
- Bagging
- Cleaning the Salish Soils fleet
