Store Manager, Jets Gear Polo Park

**True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a retail manager to join our team Jets Gear team.**
The **Store Manager, Jets Gear Polo Park** oversees the daily operation of the Polo Park Jets Gear mall location with a particular focus on sales, customer service, store merchandising, scheduling, payroll, managing inventory, reporting and assisting in hiring staff for the store.
**What to be excited for in this role**:
**_
Scheduling_**
- Track daily and weekly sales trends to maximize efficiency of labor.
- Using these trends, prepare and forecast monthly staffing needs.
- Work with staff to understand their personal schedules and ensure needs are met.
**_ Payroll_**
- Twice a month, submit daytime and game night payroll to the payroll department.
**_ Hiring Part-Time Employees_**
- Assist Director, Retail Operations in recruiting qualified, enthusiastic part-time staff.
- Assist in development and training of all policies and procedures.
- Follow through with procedures and training to ensure that a consistent message is communicated to our staff at each store location.
**_ Restocking/Merchandising_**
- Work with Director, Retail Development to develop effective merchandising strategies.
- Ensure that the store is well stocked with a variety of products for customers to choose from.
- Follow through with merchandising plans as set out by the Director, Retail Development and make sure that the store always meets a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
- Work will mall management to identify opportunities or issues unique to the mall setting.
**_ Sales_**
- Assist part-time staff with any customer issues that may arise from product or service complaints.
- Follow up promptly with any customer service issues.
- Oversee any phone-in orders that need to be held for pick up or sent via Canada Post/Courier;
**_ Reporting_**
- Finalize and hand in daily deposits into finance department daily.
- Replenish cash/coin floats to acceptable levels.
- Make daily deposits to bank.
- Hand in monthly reporting, including: _Inventory Value Report, Day/Week Sales Report_ and the _Monthly Sales Reconciliation Sheet;_
- Participate in annually and semi-annually in inventory counts.
**_ Other_**
- Meet weekly with other retail staff to review operational and staffing issues, new inventory, updates and follow up of previously discussed projects.
- Coordinate meetings with part-time staff to relay the planning, product and procedure updates.
- Assist in the maintenance and administration of the website.
- Other duties as assigned.
**What we need from you**:
- Previous successful retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a solid understanding of customer service.
- Results driven with the ability to set goals and deliver on priorities.
- Attention to detail and excellent personal organization skills.
- A fundamental understanding of database processes.
- Proactive in anticipating problems and/or issues and providing superior customer service solutions.
- Judgement to aid in management of relationships with various clients, supplier’s, peers, and supervisors, as required in this role.
- Very strong organizational skills to stay on task and effectively manage competing demands towards successful and timely completion of projects.
- Must be flexible with working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest & willingness to become part of a team seeking to provide Superior Patron Experience.
- Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and have own transportation.
