Barrie Welding & Machine is a well-established metal fabrication and machining company serving clients across Ontario. As we grow, we’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team and lead our manufacturing operations.
**Role Overview**:
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our production facility in Barrie. You will ensure that manufacturing, welding, machining and finishing operations run smoothly, safely and efficiently. You will work closely with senior leadership, front-line supervisors and operators to deliver on customer commitments, optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead and manage all production operations including welding, machining, finishing and assembly.
- Develop and implement production schedules, staffing plans and equipment utilization to meet operational targets.
- Ensure product quality, on-time delivery and cost control are achieved while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, engineering and purchasing teams to ensure equipment reliability, process optimization and material availability.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to throughput, scrap, rework, downtime, labour efficiency and customer satisfaction; monitor performance and drive corrective action.
- Lead, coach and develop supervisory and operational staff; foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement and accountability.
- Manage budget, capital expenditures and operational cost initiatives related to manufacturing operations.
- Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all occupational health & safety regulations, company policies and environmental standards.
- Communicate regularly with senior management to report operational results, issues, opportunities and strategic initiatives.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive operations management experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Proven track record of managing production operations, leading teams and achieving operational metrics.
- Strong knowledge of welding, machining, fabrication workflows and manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, process optimization and change management.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, interpret KPIs and drive operational improvements.
- Strong planning, organizing and decision-making skills.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Business or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, quality standards and environmental requirements.

Pay: $40.20-$60.05 per hour
