**Responsibilities**:
**Security Architecture and Design**:

- Develop and implement robust security architectures for both current and future technology landscapes.
- Design and review systems with a focus on security principles.

**Incident Response and Management**:

- Lead and participate in incident response activities, including analyzing and mitigating security incidents.
- Establish and maintain incident response plans.

**Vulnerability Management**:

- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.

**Security Awareness and Training**:

- Develop and deliver cyber security training programs for staff.
- Promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.

**Security Policy Development and Enforcement**:

- Create and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Regularly review and update security documentation.

**Security Auditing and Monitoring**:

- Implement and maintain security audit tools and systems.
- Monitor logs and alerts for potential security incidents.

**Network and Infrastructure Security**:

- Secure network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Ensure the security of cloud-based environments.

**Collaboration with IT Teams**:

- Work closely with IT teams to integrate security measures into technology projects.
- Provide expertise on security best practices.

**Security Risk Assessment**:

- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

**Compliance Management**:

- Ensure compliance with relevant cyber security laws, regulations, and standards.
- Prepare for and participate in security audits.

**Certification**:

- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP):

- Possession of a CISSP certification is required.
- Other relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) would be advantageous.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in cyber security roles.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards and experience with a government entity in Canada is required.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

**Salary**: From $65.00 per hour
