**Full Job Description** **Who We Are**: Golden Boy Ltd is a Division of 8th Avenue Foods and Provisions. 8th Avenue Nut Butter is a leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of Private Brand and branded food products. We supply organic and conventional peanut butter, tree nut butter and other nut butters to leading grocery retailers, top food service distributors and industrial bakeries across North America. Our location is 30 Citizen Court, Markham, ON Shifts: Monday to Friday 10:00pm to 6:00am **Position Summary**: Reporting to the Plant Manager, Golden Boy Foods Shift Supervisors work directly with their production employees and the Operations Team to keep the Markham plant production running efficiently and successfully. Will be required to lead a team of minimum 12 hourly employees per shift. Shift Supervisors will be expected to meet production requirements and daily, weekly, monthly KPIs, complete reports and prioritize and work to move from one task to another depending on the need. Overtime offered after 44 hours. Other benefits and perks. **Duties and Responsibilities**: - Following production schedule - Completion of daily production reports - Orientation and Training each employee about their role in production - Passing on shift schedule/size change over information to the maintenance team/person - Looking up and understanding the formula for products to be run - Calculation of ingredients addition rate according to run speed required for product using the Mill rate calculator. - Supervision of employee break timings to ensure effective and productive completion of work - Immediate co-ordination with onsite maintenance personnel in case of break down - Acting quickly on information provided by the QA lab in the case of any quality issues - Constantly check around the production area of the plant to observe any damages and take immideate investigative action and instructs cleaning staff accordingly - Investigate all accidents and incidents and workplace complaints - Ability to react quick to health and safety incidents and emergencies on the shop floor - Record in production documentation any findings - Ensure line and plant is handed over clean to the next shift - Carry out and complete all production related documentation as required - Ensure all operators complete their usage documentation and attach along to supervisors production usage documentation - Be knowledgeable and responsible of safety related requirements to production activities and manufacturing environment - Be proactive with regards to continuous improvement and be open to suggestions received from employees working on the floor - Motivate and coach their employees to deliver best possible results - Participate in regular employee performance reviews - Participate in the recruitment process - Be knowledgeable and responsible for ensuring GMP policies are being adhered to - Review GMP procedures for new hire, contract workers, and temps - Must be able to cover other shifts, work weekends and overtime **Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills**: - Grade 12 or equivalent education - Minimum 2 years of related experience in a food manufacturing environment with liquid filling is a definite asset - Proven leadership/supervisory experience is an asset - Proficiency in English, spoken and written - Intermediate Computer skills (Microsoft Office ) and asset - Knowledge of health and safety standards (ON) - Basic Math Skills - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude - Builds and maintains strong business relationships - Highly detailed problem-solving approach that comes to a solution in a timely fashion - Ability to manage multiple projects and meet target deadlines - Demonstrated problem solving, prioritization and conflict resolution skills - Train, motivate and coach employees - Maintain composure and work effectively under pressure - Take direction - Attention to detail - Time and stress management - Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments - Flexibility to work different hours/ weekends - "Roll-up your sleeves" can-do attitude and eager to learn **Important** Golden Boy Ltd is a division of 8th Avenue Foods and Provisions promotes a diverse, inclusive workplace.
