To keep the heart of our kitchen beating strong, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable **Kitchen Assistant** to join our team.

**Position Overview**
As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our bakers, chefs, and pastry team with daily prep, cleanliness, and organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about food who wants to grow their skills in a real-deal artisanal bakery. From early morning dough prep to end-of-day cleanup, you’ll be hands-on in a professional kitchen where teamwork, timing, and care make all the difference.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the bakery team with prep tasks including portioning, measuring, mixing, and basic food handling
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, tools, and equipment throughout the day
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation
- Label and organize ingredients, containers, and supplies for efficient workflow
- Help plate, package, and organize baked goods for retail display or customer orders
- Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures as required by company standards and provincial regulations
- Work closely with the baking team to anticipate needs and ensure smooth kitchen operations

**Qualifications & Attributes**
- 6 months to 1 year of kitchen experience preferred (but we’re happy to train the right person)
- A passion for food, baking, and the craft of working in a culinary setting
- Strong work ethic and willingness to roll up your sleeves—this is a hands-on job
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed
- Food Safe Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
