Addiction Counsellor

Seven South Street Treatment Centre is a supportive abstinence based residential program for men with alcohol and drug addictions. We are currently looking for an addiction counsellor to join our team.

**Residential Addiction Counsellor is responsible for but not limited to**:
Preparing and facilitating group counselling sessions to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goals

Conducting individual counselling to provide crisis intervention, support & guidance, and address client behaviours and personal problems

Documenting clients’ progress and responses to treatment

Maintaining client files; ensuring reports are complete, accurate, and up to date

Monitoring clients in medication (self-administration)

Ensuring client safety and well-being

Monitoring client behavior during social, recreational, or daily activities

Ensuring clients adhere to house rules

Collecting urine samples and administering breathalyzer

**Job Requirements**:
Post-Secondary education at the community college or university level with additional certification/post graduate in Addiction or equivalent education and experience.

2+ years of experience in substance abuse and mental health counselling or equivalent education with life experience

Enhanced Reliability Sector Clearance required.

Current first aid and CPR certification

Basic crisis intervention training

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
