The School Support Worker will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to children who are diagnosed with Autism or have other learning needs within a school environment. The SSW will use Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) approaches and techniques in school environments to help the student learn and develop new skills.

The School Support Worker will be responsible for implementing client specific skill acquisition programs under the supervision of the Senior Therapist.

School Support Workers are responsible for keeping accurate data and charting anecdotal information while working collaboratively with the Senior Therapist as well as the student’s teachers and family.

The position requires daily written and verbal communication with children, parents, and team members.The successful applicant will have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently delivering one-to-one instruction and within a multi-disciplinary team.

This position requires prior experience with children and knowledge of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)

Compensation varies with experience. All applicants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and be able to show proof of vaccination. They also must follow the current guidelines for COVID-19 set out by the Ontario government as well as the specific rules set out by the assigned school settings.
