Accounting Summer Student

Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is seeking an Accounting Summer Student to join our Finance team. The Accounting Summer Student is responsible for supporting the accounting activities at Egg Farmers of Canada. Key responsibilities include processing payments, administering expense claims; and, administering disbursements.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Work alongside the Finance team to**:
Process and balance invoices with purchase orders, expense claims, and process batch reports and purchase journals.
Administer invoice payments in both Canadian and US dollars.
Support with maintaining accounts payable journals, registers and void cheques file and update the accounts payable systems.
General filing of invoices and other relevant accounts payable and receivable information
**Qualifications and Skills**:
Understanding of general accounting principles.
Knowledge of standardized work methods, tools, processes and approaches related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Ability to read and understand financial documents.
Writing skills are required to prepare reports, record information and communicate with other staff.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
**Education and Experience**:
Pursuing post-secondary education in accounting.
