DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an _experienced and hardworking _**Fleet Manager.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage and coordinate a team of 10 - 15 technicians
- Responsible for job allocation and job flow, including scheduling, time sheet approvals, and allocation of day-to-day operations
- Schedule, manage, and coordinate required equipment repairs and services
- Procurement of parts, equipment, and other items required
- Ensure proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and other materials
- Ensure all legislation, Federal & Provincial, is being followed and maintained
- Facilitate the training and development of Shop team members through two-way feedback, coaching, and supportive measures that will aid in improved job performance
- Interact, manage, and maintain relationships with vendors and customers
- Provide daily supervision of Technicians to ensure efficient, effective, and timely job performance
- Record and maintain Maintenance records
- Assist Technicians with any repair obstacles and/or challenges they may encounter
- Uphold and promote all Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Communicate with Senior Management regarding shop performance, ideas, and concerns

**Qualifications**:

- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment certification
- 5+ years of experience in Shop management; _experience managing teams of 10+ considered an asset_
- 10+ years of Heavy Equipment Technician experience; _additional Automotive experience considered an asset _
- Clean 3 year Driving Abstract and valid Driver’s Licence
- Must possess strong leadership skills conflict resolution, strategic thinking, time management, reliability, etc.)
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Moderate computer skills required
- Ability to plan, organize, and multitask
- Must possess conflict resolution skills and strong decision-making abilities

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift

**Experience**:

- Shop Management: 5 years (preferred)
- Heavy Equipment Technician: 10 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment certification (required)
- Driver's Licence and a CLEAN 3 Year Driver's Abstract (required)
