**Controller**

Salus Mutual Insurance Company has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controller to join our growing team

The Controller is primarily responsible for participating in, directing, and managing the Company’s accounting function.

**Position Requirements**:

- Postsecondary education or equivalent training and work experience
- Professional designation and/or a postsecondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, finance, etc.)
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation
- Minimum five years of related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with insurance software an asset
- Experience with accounting software
- Understanding of the mutual insurance system and its philosophy is an asset
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Understanding of business functions such as human resources, finance, marketing, underwriting, etc.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records
- Knowledge of IFRS and IFRS-17 requirements

**Personal Attributes**:

- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Communication skills, written and verbal
- Maintains a positive working relationship and liaison with all business partners (e.g., employees, customers, third parties, etc.)
