**Opportunity**:
MacEwan University is seeking a Student Conduct Officer for a 12-month, full-time replacement term opportunity with our Office of Student Conduct with the possibility of an extension. You will be responsible for conducting investigations in accordance with the Investigative Framework and ensuring compliance with the non-academic misconduct policy. You will work directly with students, faculty, and staff to resolve disciplinary situations involving students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting investigations in consultation with the Office of Investigations, and the various stakeholders, including the Associate Deans of the students’ faculties or schools for non-academic misconduct allegations;
- Conducting investigations in consultation with the Office of Investigations and the Sexual Violence Response Coordinator for alleged sexual violence involving students;
- Assisting the Office of Investigations in the facilitation of the complaint, through the complaint intake process and the direction of the complaint to the appropriate Supervisor, Manager, Director, Chair, Associate Dean/Dean and Human Resources Representative for student complaints against faculty or staff;
- Providing reports to the Associate Vice-President, Student Support and Accountability, or their delegate, with findings and recommendations for disciplinary action;
- Facilitating the delivery of the outcomes of investigations to the involved parties, offering referrals to campus support resources;
- Collaborating, coordinating, and consulting involved parties when non-academic incidents are under investigation for the purpose of maintaining high institutional standards;
- Developing resources, materials, and educational opportunities to support the Office of Student Conduct and its procedures for the campus community;
- Advising the University Community regarding policy areas related to student discipline.
- Consulting and coordinating with the Office of Investigations, Security Services, Deans’ Offices, Residence, the Sexual Violence Response Coordinator, Academic Integrity Office and other University Offices;
- Maintaining confidential records of non-academic misconduct investigations and reports;
- Preparing annual reports of student non-academic misconduct activity for the Associate Vice-President, Student Support and Accountability; and
- Preparing notice of investigation summaries, issue interim measures, writing comprehensive decision letters, and other case management as needed.
