We have an immediate opening for a **Research Technician**. This position is available in **Calgary, AB**.

**How we plan on keeping you busy**:

- Actively contributing to project execution including assay development, validation, data analysis and reporting
- Assist our scientists in testing hypotheses and pursuing valuable new research in cell-based screening
- Clean and set up laboratory equipment, monitor inventory and supplies, and ensure overall laboratory cleanliness
- Record detailed observations and notes pertaining to sample collection and/or any ongoing studies
- Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected
- Routine handling of mammalian cell cultures including stable cell line maintenance, transient transfections, freezing and thawing cells
- Maintaining cell stocks and freezer inventories
- Supporting and collaborating with members from various teams to meet project deliverables and timelines
- Growing your technical skill set and engaging in professional development

**What will help you get here**:

- Biology diploma or equivalent
- Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in life sciences
- Preferred
- Prior hands-on experience working in a lab environment
- Experience with bioassays, mammalian cell culture techniques, other molecular and cellular biology techniques
- Laboratory technician certification or unencumbered licensure
- Excellent manual dexterity required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills
- (Optional, but desired) Experience in flow cytometry, microscopy and/or in vitro assays
