Whirlpool Canada’s head office is located in Mississauga, Ontario. The position of Field Service Appliance Technician will be an assigned to **Quebec.**

This role will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service excellence in the homes of our consumers, including performing technical diagnosis, repair and installation of all kitchen and laundry appliances including but not limited to washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, microwave ovens.

Whirlpool Canada is the number one supplier of small and major home appliances, selling products under major brands that include Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, and Jenn-Air. Whirlpool Canada’s head office is located in Mississauga, Ontario.The position of Field Service Technician will be an assigned area in Canada.

**Your responsibilities will include**
- Diagnose concerns by interpreting the customer’s observations and determine proper solutions or repair
- Access manufacturers' service manuals and bulletins and use specialized tools and testing devices to locate the issue(s)
- Maintain appliances by disassembling, cleaning internal parts, replacing faulty or worn parts, reassembling and testing,
- Communicate with customers for the purpose of estimates, and the use and care of their appliances, and prepare work orders, complete reports for billing, and maintain records for parts inventories and future service calls
- Ensure any installations that require connections to water, electrical or gas lines are completed correctly and in accordance with the installation instructions of the product.
- Look up and order parts
- Use business management software to manage service calls
- Demonstrate and practice customer service values when in customer home
- Prepare products for proper disposal, including recovering refrigerants, draining oils from compressors and washing machine gear cases
- Provide field support as needed for assist repairs
- Follow company processes as per service Standard Operating Procedures
- Demonstrate proper code of conduct and business ethics
- Proficient oral and written communication skills both English
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Physically fit with the ability to lift upwards of 55 lbs and to complete labour required daily.
- Obtain required certification through Whirlpool’s recommended resources
- Strong communication skills both internal and external
- Answer any and all questions the consumer might have about his or her appliance and service
- Demonstrate to customers on proper use and care of the appliance
- Bilingual in French and English
- Clear communication with company back office support staff

**Minimum requirements**
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year experience in the appliance repair field or other service industry. (i.e. telecommunication, electrical, HVAC, maintenance )

**Preferred skills and experiences**
- Appliance Service Technician Red Seal Certificate (or in process of acquiring / registered as journeyman apprentice )
- Have formal technical training in appliance repair
- Knowledgeable and comfortable in using a tablet/laptop computers
- Adaptable to change and strong communication and teamwork skills, organizational, and customer service skills
- Comfortable with Google Software and Applications (Google sheets, docs, slides) or equivalent
- Highly developed organizational, and customer service skills
- Results-driven with proven trouble-shooting and problem-solving
- Read, comprehend, and where necessary complete items including a blueprint, electrical schematic, operating and maintenance manuals, work order, repair parts request, standard and metric tape measure, and other measuring equipment including a micrometer, a caliper, a scale, and a VOM (Volt/OHM Meter)
