**Job Description - Material Handler**

**Position Summary**:

- 8-hour shift
- Ability to work afternoon shift and overtime including weekends, as required.
- Attendance mandatory on inventory days (twice a year).

**Responsibilities**: The Material Handler assists in the efficient operation of production by performing the following duties:

- Load and unload trucks.
- Stage shipments for customers and/or transfer to warehouse.
- Interacts with Molding and Printing Departments to supply or store product and/or raw materials.
- Works in a safe manner according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ropak/Mauser Policies and Procedures.
- Contributes to the cleanliness of Raw Materials & Finished Goods Warehouse.
- Wears appropriate PPE such as safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.
- Other duties as required, assigned by Department lead and manager.

**Requirements**:

- Certified and Licensed to drive forklift truck.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum three years related experience and or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, safety labels and procedure manuals written in English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to perform some physical duties requiring average strength, including manual lifting, and working in tight quarters for inspection and for searching for proper product.
- Ability to work independently.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00 per hour

Supplemental pay types:

- Oakville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
