**Position Summary**

We are offering a part-time, contract position for a psychotherapist who can provide counselling to _**individuals and couples**_. We are looking for someone who can provide both _**virtual sessions AND in-person sessions at our Markham office**_ (see ‘Schedule & Location’ below).

**Qualifications/Requirements**
- Fully Registered (not “qualifying”) Registered Psychotherapist (RP)
- Master’s degree in Couples & Family Therapy, Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or similar designation
- Current registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario

**Experience**
- At least 2 years of experience working directly with clients on a full-time basis
- Experience & knowledge about providing **couples therapy** is required.

**Qualities & Skills**
- Experience reviewing Terms of Service with clients and receiving informed consent
- Ability to conduct risk assessments for suicidality, interpersonal violence, and self-harm
- Confidence creating safety plans with at-risk clients
- Experience working with children, young adults, adults, and the elderly
- Awareness of when to refer clients to other health professionals and/or emergency services
- Experience of how to work with various presenting concerns, including: anxiety, depression, grief, infertility, addictions, eating disorders, OCD, PTSD/trauma, couples issues, and children
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working with members of the BIPOC and LGBTQ++ communities and a knowledge of how your social location might affect the ways in which you work with said populations
- Commitment to social justice and an awareness of power dynamics in session
- Cognizance of how your social location affects your work (i.e. via transference, bias, etc.)
- Experience integrating different models of therapy into your work (i.e. CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, etc.)
- Strong self-awareness skills
- Ability to work with individuals and couples of all ages and backgrounds
- Passion for professional growth and improvement via self-directed learning and supervision
- Ability to remain hopeful, resilient, and strengths-based with clients
- Ability to utilize programs like Zoom, booking software, and other apps

**Schedule & Location**
- Required to provide in-person sessions at our Markham office and online sessions via Zoom
- Markham office is located by 16th & Woodbine (305 Renfrew Drive)
- You will have flexibility about what your hours are throughout the day to accommodate at least 5 sessions per week
- **Some evenings and at least one weekend shift are required** as many couples cannot attend therapy during work hours.
