**What can I expect to do in this role?**

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for all accounts payable, administrative functions, including invoices, ensuring purchase orders match, obtaining approval, and entering the invoices into the accounting system (MS Dynamics GP & PairSoft) for timely payment. Responsibilities include EFT, ensuring travel and expense reimbursement submissions are in accordance with the Board expense policy, as well as ensuring that debit accounts are resolved effectively and timely.
- Ensure invoices are reviewed for accuracy and payment processed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with suppliers and resolve issues for payment.
- Provide timely and accurate month-end support, including journal entries (e.g., accruals, allocations, etc.), account reconciliations and departmental support regarding payables.
- Ensure monthly HST is calculated in accordance with legislation and verify accuracy of WSIB with operations and prepare payment.
- Maintain integrity of supplier database through annual maintaining and updating, this includes address verification and updating vendor card and assist in documentation process for AP.
- Assist in the implementation of risk management and internal controls for expenditure cycle, including assessment and monitoring, whether internal controls in place and are adequately designed and operating effectively and in compliance with accounting and organizational policies.
- Assist with and maintain the banking functions including funds availability and deposits; internal transfers; wire and banking transfers; and non-sufficient funds cheque follow-up.
- Prepare quarterly accounts payable report for the Board.
- Receive, review, and interpret a variety of source documents including contracts and agreements for capital and non-capital projects, to verify all terms of payment and holdback schedules.
- Maintain integrity of general ledger systems, compliance with accounting standards and efficient internal controls supporting reporting, assist in the preparation of the year end audit, preparing notes and working papers.
- Maintain petty cash fund for department, including counting floats and replenishing funds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**How do I qualify?**
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Three or more years in a progressive computerized environment in an Account Payable analyst role.
- Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains & PairSoft experience is an asset.
- Working towards a Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation in Canada is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, organization, accountability, and planning skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
- Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, and International Financial Reporting Standards / Public Sector Accounting Standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to handle confidential documents and reports.
