We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Spring Operator within our Northfield Metal Products team** **to help support our Work Furniture business. In our Furniture Components business, we design, manufacture, and distribute a wide range of components and finished products that enhance comfort, motion, and style in the work and home furniture industry. From surface-critical bent tube assemblies and molded plywood components to chair mechanisms, bases, arms, seats, and backs, our Furniture Components business brings diverse world-class manufacturing capabilities together in the production and assembly of high-quality products. As a Spring Operator, you will be supporting the operations of the business by setting up and operating a variety of machines. The team you will be working with has a long tenure and values collaboration

**So, what will you be doing as a Spring Operator ?**
- Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to fabricate small lots or sample of coiled compression, extension and torsion springs, and other wire forms from steel wire or strip, following blueprints, drawings and charts
- Operates lathe winders to form coiled flat and wire springs
- Selects machine tools and installs them on the lathe winder
- Measures products for conformance to specifications with calipers, micrometers and other gauges
- Crimps and trues coiled springs and bends wire and flat forms to specified shape

**To be successful in this role, you’ll need**:

- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
- Be able to read blueprints
- Ability to work individually but be a team player
- Strong attendance record
- Attention to detail
