**Salary Range**:$84,335 to $105,417 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits)

**Hours of work**:35 hours per week

Are you an individual who is highly knowledgeable in building automation systems with an ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems within commercial facilities to ensure assets are safe, comfortable, cost effective and in proper working order?

Reporting to the Supervisor of Technical Services, you will oversee the day to day operations and maintenance of building and automation systems for a variety of Regional facilities including administrative office buildings, paramedic stations, art gallery, museum and health clinics. You will participate in existing system upgrades and integration, and new installations.

**What you will do in this role**:

- Maintain building systems for optimal occupant comfort
- Using building automation systems and equipment at site, proactively monitor boilers, furnaces, humidifiers, geothermal systems, compressors, chillers, air conditioners, domestic hot and cold-water supply, sanitary equipment and sewers, storm sewers and drainage, elevators, UPS, diesel and natural gas generators, electrical supply and distribution, emergency lighting to ensure all are operating effectively
- Perform minor routine preventative and response maintenance
- Coordinate and validate the work of service contractors, taking the lead in troubleshooting operational problems with existing systems
- Lead advanced operation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) to measure and verify reliability of equipment, analyze equipment performance, generate trending and recommendation reports
- Lead and coordinate with BAS System contractors and internal stakeholders to maintain, adjust and upgrade systems to ensure they support organizational operations, client comfort, efficiency and reliability
- Participate in the creation of contract documents by making recommendation on scope of work for various maintenance service agreements
- Identify opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption in support of the Region’s Climate Change Mitigation Strategy
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners
- Manage contractors to ensure preventative maintenance routines are completed as per scope and fully compliant with governing authorities in a timely manner to optimize facility operations
- Carry out job duties in a safe and healthy manner and support a customer service environment
- May fill in for other team roles as required including Building Operations Technicians

**What the role requires**:

- Requires post-secondary education in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Building Systems Engineering with OACETT certification as a Certified Technician or Technologist, or a combination of education and experience may be considered
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in designing or servicing HVAC systems and/or plumbing systems
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in building automation systems and controls with practical knowledge of building automation systems such as Trane Tracer Summit, Automated Logic, Niagara Tridium JACE 4.0, Delta
- Working knowledge and experience in maintaining mechanical, plumbing electrical, controls and gas sensor systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage small projects from implementation to closeout
- Working knowledge of ASHRAE Standards, TSSA Regulations, Federal and Provincial legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Building and Fire Codes
- Valid ‘G’ driver’s license

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Programming and diagnostic skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong customer centric focus
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Proven ability to build positive working relationships with contractors and vendors with an ability to read and interpret contract scope of work
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities
- Demonstrated tact and diplomacy and ability to deal with a variety of people at all levels
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

**Nice to have**:

- Facility Management (FMA, FMP), Maintenance Management or Building Environmental Systems (BES) Class 1 or 2 designations an asset
- Municipal experience is an asset
