- Gender Pathways Service, Children's Hospital
Reporting to the Manager of Health Disciplines, the Psychotherapist provides evidence-based, best practice clinical interventions for patients who have a serious disorder of thought, cognition, mood, emotional regulation, perception or memory that may seriously impair their judgement, insight, behavior, communication or social functioning. The Psychotherapist provides treatment using psychotherapeutic techniques as described by the college of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO). The Psychotherapist will collaborate closely with other health care practitioners at LHSC and in the community in the provision of care and consultation.

Rate of Pay: $41.12 per hour - $51.39 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.50 hours per week
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline (preferred)
- Registration or eligible for registration with a professional college in Ontario and authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy (Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Registered Psychotherapist, etc.)
- Minimum two (2) years of recent relevant experience
- Demonstrated competence with the treatment of the sequelae of complex trauma
- Demonstrated ability in the selection, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s treatment plan
- Demonstrated advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and a commitment to working within an academic environment
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated ability in working with interprofessional health care teams
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office 365 and corporate productivity tools
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Vision, Purpose, and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
