Our team is growing We are currently seeking experienced **Mechanical Assembler**(s) on a permanent, full-time basis.

**Job Summary**

The Mechanical Assembler supports manufacturing activities in SUBCOE’s facility. Responsible for assembling mechanical aspects of SUBCOE products through standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Assembly of products using standard shop procedures, mechanical drawings, and other written or verbal instructions. The tasks require a certain amount of acquired skill, often dealing with mechanical/ electrical equipment and handling/organizing all incoming and outgoing materials and products. The job requires stamina, ability to follow instructions, commitment to safety, willingness to expand skill sets, and increase the level of expertise. The role reports to the Team Lead and/or Assistant Production Manager.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Assemble parts, pieces, and/or products using a variety of tools and/or equipment according to required specifications, processes, and procedures in an area of production in a manufacturing environment. Ensure that all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final SUBCOE product.
- Installation of mechanical and electrical components; assembly of components or parts with fasteners and/or hand tools.
- Use of hand tools, hand-held power tools (saws, drills, riveters, etc.), and some stationary tools such as drill press, band saw, and grinder.
- Use of other tools such as tape measures, screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches, hammers, etc.
- Measuring, marking, drilling, tapping of pieces to be assembled.
- Installation of metal components; Accurate use of torque wrench.
- Read and understand mechanical diagrams.
- Unloading and loading of equipment from delivery trucks.
- Preparing and packaging products for shipment.
- Report all non-conformances to the Manager.
- Participate in workplace improvement activities as prescribed by the Manager.
- Keep workspace and shop safe, clean, and tidy; collect trash, debris, and other waste.
- Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material; may be required to handle hazardous materials in a safe manner.
- Assist electrical assemblers, wiring technicians, electricians, or other tradespeople on-site.
- May take up dangerous tasks like handling wiring or voltages or removing materials/chemicals from the facility.
- Follow instructions from managers to perform manual labor tasks (e.g., stacking up goods, shoveling, etc.).
- Move materials to the work site and ensure all tools, machinery, and other equipment are safely set up.
- Follow health and safety rules as well as the company's policies and operations procedures.
- Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions to the managers.
- Ensure tasks are completed to deadlines efficiently and effectively.
- Perform site and equipment inspections.
- Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs to a wide variety of small equipment.
- Assist skilled mechanical assemblers performing mechanical tasks, in-skilled installation, and repair work.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. or more and stand for extended periods.
- Communicate effectively with managers and other staff.

**Bona Fide Occupational Requirement (BFOR)**
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job:

- standing for long periods of time;
- lifting heavy loads of up to 50 lbs.; and
- bending, twisting, and doing repetitive manual tasks.
- Excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination.
- Mechanical and electrical abilities to successfully perform the tasks safely and effectively.
- Manual dexterity and good visual abilities to avoid hazardous and unsafe conditions.
- Familiarity with various power tools and machinery.

**Minimum Requirements & KSAOs (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other attributes)**
- High school diploma (minimum); GED or other equivalents (preferred).
- Class 5 driver's license and forklift license are desirable.
- 1 to 2 years experience as a Mechanical Assembler or other related positions.
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing VFDs and practical experience with tools.
- Good knowledge of the techniques and terminology used in the operation of mechanical equipment; ability to operate a variety of mechanical equipment.
