Your Opportunity:
As a Data Quality (DQ)/Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist, you will ensure quality and integrity in accordance with provincial directives and Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) rules and guidelines, in the Provincial Clinical Information System (Connect Care) and the Provincial Coding and Abstracting system (PCAS). Applicants will be required to write and pass a provincial coding proficiency test and perform a pre-hire skills assessment with a minimum score of 70% prior to advancing to the interview. Key Accountabilities
- Clinical documentation and coded data reviews in collaboration with key stakeholders for continuous quality improvement and efficiencies with a patient centric focus. Collaborates with Provincial Advisors and other key stakeholders in the development and implementation of DQ and CDI standards ensuring best practices are understood and adhered to. The Employee shall maintain confidentiality of all Alberta Health Services (AHS) information in accordance with Health Information Act, Freedom of Information and Privacy and other privacy legislation in effect and shall comply at all times with Alberta Health Services’ Information Privacy and Information Security policies.

As a Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) II, you will provide leadership in the development, implementation and reporting for health information services. You will be responsible for the coordination of daily operations as well as training new staff in your assigned area. You will deliver operational guidance and support to ensure that clinical information is timely, accurate and valid.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).

3 - 5 years minimum coding experience with ICD-10-CA/CCI. Experience with Connect Care (EPIC) and 3M HDM abstracting system. Certificate of completion from Coding Specialist Program, Coding Refresher or other coding & classification programs recognized by CCHIM an asset. Experience in conducting formal data quality audits and presentations of findings required.
