We are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a part-time role as an education assistant and to assist with student supervision. **Hours**:Monday to Friday-10:30 am-3:30 pm

**Compensation**: $18-$35 per hour dependent on experience

**Job Duties**:
**Education Assistant**
- Under the direction of a teacher or principal, work with small groups of students or assist students that need extra support
- Provide one-on-one or small group support for students in classroom and school settings.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behavior plans, and communication supports as directed by the teacher or specialist team.
- Use strategies and tools that promote self-regulation, communication, and social interaction.
- Adapt and modify classroom materials to support learning needs.
- Monitor and support positive behavior, de-escalation, and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with teachers, resource staff, and families to ensure consistency of support strategies.
- Document observations and progress, and provide feedback to teachers.

**Student Supervisor**
- Outdoor morning and afternoon recess supervision includes:

- Leading students to and from the local parks
- Supervising students during recess
- Assisting students engaging in appropriate play activities at recess times and potentially help students solve problems in appropriate and peaceful ways
- Occasional indoor recess supervision (due to inclement weather) including set up and supervision of indoor recess activities such as crafts or indoor games
- Supervision of students eating lunch in class

**Required Qualifications**:

- Willingness to perform a Criminal Record Review
- Experience of working with students with diverse learning needs, such as ASD
- Knowledge of autism, neurodiverse learning styles, and inclusive education practices.
- Ability to implement visual supports, structured routines, and communication systems
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patience, flexibility, and ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Strong English communication skills
- Excellent conflict resolution skills

**Desired Competencies**:

- Experience with teaching frameworks: MindUP, zones of regulation and Superflex: A social thinking curriculum
- Ability to take direction and feedback
- Enjoys collaboration with other staff members
- Excellent organization skills

**Desired Qualifications**:

- First Aid Training

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$35.00 per hour
