**R & D Chemist (Adhesives and Polymer)**

**Reports to: R & D Manager**

**Duties**:To Design new adhesive and emulsion polymer products, improve existing products and provide technical service in support to the sales department and manufacturing
- To carry out lab and project work on adhesives, emulsion polymers and related products in an efficient manner
- To write up formulas for manufacturing and costing, set Quality Control specifications, provide technical datasheets, samples, etc.
- To assist the manufacturing department in scale up of new products and resolve manufacturing problems with existing products
- To provide technical assistance to the sales department by attending trails, making joint sales calls, analyzing competitive products, etc.
- To assist the Q.C. department in investigation of customer complaints.
- To train junior chemists.
- Other responsibilities which management may require from time to time.

**Requirements (prior to starting position)**:

- University Degree in Chemistry (Program to include adhesive and polymer chemistry)
- Minimum of 3 years R & D experience in adhesives and or polymers or related field. (paint or rubber industry)
- R & D lab experience Preferred

- IR spectrophotometer
- Product Testing
- PSA testing
- TDG
- Procedures and equipment operations
