**Job Description**:
Under the direction of the Research & Development manager, Analytical Chemist-R&D will be responsible for supporting the department by coordinating research activities directed toward the development of new methods and conducting validations that meet the departmental goal. The position is instrumental in the development/validation of a new test method as per ICH guidelines.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Write method validation, method transfer protocol& report for Assay and Impurities analysis.
- Perform analysis using Different Instruments (e.g. HPLC, GC, LCMSMS, GCMSMS, UV-Vis, FTIR) and wet chemistry techniques.
- Review technical data, documents, and proposals as required.
- Provide technical support to clients in relation to R&D, Validation and Technology Transfer.
- Troubleshoot technical issues/ difficulties with methods.
- Coordinate method transfers between clients, R & D group and other departments.
- Assist SOP training for new personnel and on SOP revisions.
- Provide ongoing technical training and develops staff to enable them to perform technical tasks;
- Assist Sales and Marketing with technical support opportunities.
- Liaise with clients regularly to maintain superior relationships.
- Support the R&D manager in all aspects of the business to run the department smoothly.

**Qualifications**:
**EDUCATION**:

- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Life Science.
- Graduate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Life Science would be a strong asset.
- Computer proficiency - MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and e-LIMS.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- A minimum of 3-5 years working in the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical field, specifically in an R&D capacity working in a GMP environment;
- Strong experience with Method Development, Method Validation, Method Transfers.
- LCMSMS or GCMSMS experience would be preferable.

- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
This position will be working in a laboratory environment where standing is required for greater than 50% of the time to work at the bench for analyses. Light lifting requirements of no more than 30 lbs. Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate PPE.

Shift work and overtime may be required, as well as working periodic weekends and/or evenings.
