**Job Summary: Structural Intern**

Working with the Principals and other team members, our interns have an opportunity to explore careers in Structural Engineering by working with more senior engineers in carrying out technical tasks. Interns will develop skills in a variety of responsibilities including calculations, completeness of data and using prescribed analysis, design or computation methods.

Our Structural Intern works on a variety of projects including high rise, commercial, data centers, and public buildings.

**In this role, you will**:

- Provide technical support to various members of the team; assist in the investigation, report, design development and site review phases of a variety of structural projects.
- Assist in the preparation of construction Working Drawings, Specifications and Terms of Reference
- Provide general technical and administrative support to the structural team
- Uses initiative and judgment to resolve problems, obtain and analyze data, design or modify equipment components
- Recommendations are made on the acceptability of materials supplied and work completed by Contractors and others
- Makes decisions within established guidelines, procedures and practices

**Skills/abilities**:

- 3rd or 4th year student preferred, currently enrolled in an applied science or engineering post-secondary program
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; including technical writing
- Ability to work with the design team on multiple projects at the same time
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Good academic understanding of concrete design and concrete behaviors; familiar with building codes and standards
- Willingness to work on site and deal with other professionals

**Location**: Toronto, ON

**Travel**: Limited travel is required
