- ** **This is a part-time, 0.4 FTE AUPE casual position (14 hours per week). Hiring salary being $31.34 to $35.49 per hour.**Background**
- We are expanding our Blackfoot language curriculum as part of our commitment to develop degree and diploma programs in the Blackfoot language in response to TRC Call to Action 16. A key aspect of this new curriculum is the creation of adult immersion programming to complement the existing class-based language courses. The immersion programming will follow the general principles of the successful Master/Mentor-Apprentice Program approach. The MAP approach pairs a more fluent speaker (the Master/Mentor speaker) with a less fluent speaker (the Apprentice) for intensive one-on-one language work focussed on oral fluency in natural settings and daily activities in the community. - **Handbook**.**Position description**- Consultation with Elders and community members about appropriate ways to adapt the MAP approach to the Blackfoot language context.
- Immersion course and program proposal development.
- Arranging and coordinating training for MAP team members.
- Identifying, coaching and supervising MAP teams.
- Working both on campus and in the community.

This position offers the exciting opportunity to contribute to Blackfoot language sustainability by helping develop and run promising new approaches to adult Blackfoot language immersion. You will work with a small but dedicated team of committed individuals to help make this a reality.
