**Manager, Sustainability Innovation**:
The Manager, Sustainability Innovation, plays an integral role in aligning Teck’s business transformation program - RACE in support of Teck’s Sustainability Strategy objectives.

The Manager, Sustainability Innovation, is responsible for working as an integrator between the RACE and sustainability teams to drive significant sustainability value, and ensure the RACE transformation is supporting Teck’s achievement of its short
- and long-term sustainability goals (e.g. health and safety, decarbonization, responsible production, tailings management, water, etc.).

This role reports to the Director, Sustainability Integration and Performance who is responsible for the integration of sustainability across functions at Teck, including Transformation and Innovation (T&I) and key programs within these departments. The Manager, Sustainability Innovation leads and facilitates interactions related to sustainability innovation, with a focus on deployment of technology solutions, and supports longer-term innovation strategy. This is one of two positions that reports to the Director, Sustainability Integration and Performance; the other is Manager, Sustainability Planning.

Part of the leadership team at RACE, there are currently no direct reports. There are four positions directly reporting to the Vice President, Transformation. These are: Director, Value Delivery, Director of Digital, Director, Galileo & Enterprise Architecture, and Executive Assistant. This position is one of six positions with a dotted reporting line to the Vice President, Transformation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support impactful sustainability value creation through the RACE sustainability portfolio working primarily with the RACE Value Delivery and Digital teams, while concurrently representing sustainability interests and priorities of the SEA team.
- Facilitate dialogue and alignment between SEA, RACE, and site-based teams such that technology solutions developed by RACE meet expectations of various teams involved
- Provide coordination and leadership for Sustainability Strategy leads, BU team members and RACE team members to prioritize and implement innovation and technology-driven projects and programs that support achievement of sustainability goals.
- Support alignment between Teck’s Sustainability Strategy and RACE strategies, including finding opportunities to converge RACE strategy to meet Sustainability Strategy objectives
- Establish clear sustainability innovation critical metrics for RACE initiatives, and report quarterly on progress
- Provide regular updates to SEA leadership on the breadth of RACE initiatives and strategy related to sustainability

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate/graduate degree(s) in environmental or social sciences or other degree related to the field of sustainable development or equivalent experience
- 8-10 years of experience in sustainability or related fields
- Broad understanding of environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects of mining that leads to strong and clearly articulated value propositions for strategic investments in technology
- Excellent interpersonal skills; is able to quickly build relationships and establish credibility
- Connects and brings together the right people to ensure all required viewpoints are represented and the right outcome is reached
- Communicates effectively. Has strong facilitation and presentation skills.
