**Kinbrook Island Provincial Park** is also a very popular destination for camping and outdoor recreation. The lake, beach area, surrounding marshes and large campground provide many outdoor activities such as boating, swimming, sunbathing, fishing, hiking, bird watching and more. The Parks is located 13 km south of Brooks.

**Role**:

- If you enjoy working outside and are committed to caring for Alberta Park’s facilities and campgrounds, come join our Maintenance Service Team at Kinbrook Island Provincial Park located in Southern Alberta in the Brooks Region.**Responsibilities Include**:
As part of the Maintenance team, you strive to maintain Alberta Parks’ high standards to ensure quality customer service and safety is provided at all times. Specific responsibilities include:
- Performing routine custodial and cleaning duties of park facilities including campgrounds, day use areas and trails systems
- Lawn maintenance using riding mowers and hand tools; completion of minor repairs
- Performing routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment
- Completing trail and signage projects
- Reporting all maintenance concerns to Team Lead and / or Supervisor
- Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies, procedures and protocols
- Completing administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claim, commencement and termination paperwork, and online courses

**Qualifications**:
**Education / Experience**:

- Some high school education

**Additional Requirements**:

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Recognized current Standard First Aid Certificate and WHMIS certificate

**Assets**:

- Preference for custodial or cleaning experience but will train
- Carpentry, plumbing, irrigation and/or electrical experience.
- Computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office
- Chainsaw certification
- Good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance and safety of small equipment, hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow OH&S procedures, protocols, and attending all safety meetings.
- Must have good physical stamina; capable of performing demanding physical tasks and lifting up to 25 kg

To be successful in this role, you also need excellent communication and organizational, teamwork skills. You must be willing to show initiative to work independently or work in a team.

**Salary**:
Base on a 40 hour work week, $19.84 - $23.86 per hour
- Shift premiums for evenings and weekend include:
- $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
- $2.75 per hour for evenings
- Wage employees receive 11.2% in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of benefits and vacation leave.- 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
