**Work Schedule**: 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

**Reporting to**: Executive Director

**Direct Reports**:Digital Communications Coordinator, Communications Coordinator, Graphic Designer, and Social Media Assistant.

Are you a creative and driven manager with experience guiding a team through fast-paced marketing projects? As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of all marketing and communications strategies for our student-focused organization. This includes setting goals, building strategies, and executing comprehensive campaigns.

We’re looking for someone with management experience and strong knowledge of marketing and communication practices that create real value. You’ll oversee campaign planning and execution across various channels, including digital media, events, and social platforms. This role is a great fit for someone who is enthusiastic, efficient, well-organized, and thrives in a team environment.

The Marketing and Communications Manager position offers the chance to work closely with a dedicated team and build meaningful experiences for our student community.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES OF THE COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING MANAGER**

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for a variety of key functions, including but not limited to:

- Plan and implement marketing campaigns with consistent messaging. Work in collaboration with other departments to support communications.
- Lead the development and rollout of major marketing initiatives using a full range of marketing tools to increase awareness of SUS and track campaign performance against measurable goals.
- Offer supervision, guidance, and direction to the Marketing and Communications team.
- Stay informed on creative trends and emerging marketing approaches that will shape the work of the society.
- Participate in content creation by drafting scripts, organizing video shoots, brainstorming ideas, and overseeing video production for promotional content.
- Develop and guide branding strategies for new programs and services that reflect the mission and values of SUS.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, and set up effective processes for ongoing collaboration.
- Analyze key metrics from social media, the website, and other marketing tools to make data-informed improvements and build stronger campaigns.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
- ** Education and Experience**: A university degree in a related field (such as Marketing, Communications, or Advertising) and a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
- **Marketing Skills**: Demonstrated experience in planning and carrying out marketing activities. Skilled in creating communication plans, messaging, and strategies to support outreach or education initiatives. Comfortable using data to shape campaigns.
- **Brand and Media Knowledge**: Strong understanding of brand development and management. Experience producing content for both print and digital platforms.
- **Leadership**: Proven ability to train, mentor, and supervise team members while encouraging growth and accountability.
- **Communication**: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confident in providing and accepting feedback.
- **Organizational Abilities**: Excels at project management, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects concurrently.
- **Flexibility**: Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and managing last-minute projects or shifting plans when needed.
- **Collaboration**: Approachable and excels working alongside staff and contributing to broader organizational goals. A friendly, outgoing, team-oriented approach is essential.

**SALARY AND BENEFITS**: $65,000 plus comprehensive benefits. We offer up to 6% matching RRSP contribution, a comprehensive Health and Dental benefits plan with Healthcare Spending Account and Wellness Allowance. This position receives a generous leave allowance in addition to a long weekend in summer and a paid winter break, typically of up to 10 extra days at the end of December.
