Youthdale Treatment Centres is a leading non-profit and charitable community agency dedicated to serving children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds and communities across Ontario struggling with complex mental health needs. As an organization, equity, diversity, inclusivity and belonging (EDIB) are an integral part of our operations and guiding principles, and we are committed to incorporating EDIB strategies in the work we do to support our clients, community, and staff.

We are looking for a highly dedicated, experienced and knowledgeable professional for a newly created position, Manager of EDIB. The EDIB Manager will be responsible to coordinate projects and initiatives across the organization and systems that address EDIB, as organized in Youthdale’s EDIB’s Work Plan and Strategic Plan.

**ROLE OVERVIEW**

Reporting to the President & CEO, the newly created Manager, EDIB will be a key member of the management team, and work closely with members of the Leadership Collaborative. The manager, EDIB will focus on the agency’s EDIB strategies, leading and supporting the planning and implementation of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives to strengthen our client support and work culture, and will oversee the EDI-B Committee. In addition, the manager may be assigned EDIB related project management duties working with Youthdale staff and may represent Youthdale on external committees and working groups.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Leads the implementation, communication, and evaluation of the organization’s strategic plan in response to its plan and commitment to address EDIB in the workplace.
- Promotes the organization’s commitment to equity, diversity, inclusivity, and belonging and ensure an understanding of EDIB principles and values across all teams, departments, and function areas.
- Works closely with leadership to advise on EDIB goals, measures, and outcome reports.
- Presents EDIB goals and initiatives at senior leadership meetings.
- Assesses and analyzes current processes, procedures, and guidelines and make recommendations to incorporate/strengthen EDIB strategies in the organization.
- Develops metrics for assessing the presence and success of underrepresented client groups. This includes both quantitative and qualitative instruments.
- Collaborates with the agency’s leaders to effectively implement EDIB in their line of work - keeping the clients we serve at the forefront of decisions.
- Supports the maintenance and make recommendations of policies and procedures, ensuring they support EDIB objectives.
- Collaborates with leaders in Youthdale to develop strategies to reach racialized, Indigenous, and other underrepresented population groups in the community.
- Coordinates health equity, diversity and inclusion annual events.
- Supports the professional development of staff by coordinating and/or developing training workshops, materials, and guides as it relates to incorporating EDIB in our work to support our clients.
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert, serve as a learning thought leader and partner with teams on tackling EDIB issues and act as a resource for staff and clients.
- Oversees the work of the EDIB Committee by assisting in planning workplace/organizational health equity, diversity and inclusion meetings, undertaking research, completing assigned tasks on behalf of the Committee, advising on matters that might be brought to the Committee, representing the Committee at other planning tables as assigned, etc.
- Coordinates EDIB related projects and provide administrative support to ensure effective documentation, task tracking, and reporting over the project life cycle.
- In partnership with human resources support best practices and initiatives that will increase diversity among the workforce and enhance our human resources practices (such as: recruitment strategy, leadership development, employee engagement and retention, succession planning, etc.)
- Assists the human resource department with establishing recruitment partnerships and conduct outreach.
- Coordinates and facilitates EDIB professional development and training.
- Ensure Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Human Rights Code compliance and provide informed guidance on accessibility and inclusion.
- Provide EDIB perspective on related investigation results and make recommendations for resolution.
- Support initiatives to increase health equity by carrying out assigned duties such as: reviewing service materials, organizing community consultations, supporting communities of practice, supporting youth engagement initiatives, etc.
