We’re looking to grow our business, and we’re looking for the right people to help We’re a Brampton, ON based software company servicing food manufacturers across North America. Our customer base includes some of the largest food processors in Canada and the US - you might have some of their products in your fridge at home. We’re looking for an energetic, passionate and eager Business Development Representative to join our team. As an integral part of our sales and marketing department, you’ll help acquire new customers and nurture some of our existing accounts. Most of our business is generated via cold calls and messaging, so you must be comfortable talking to new people and not be afraid of the phone. Our sales process includes visits to our customers facilities, so you must be able to travel throughout North America. **RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES** - Research potential customers to understand what they do and how our products might fit their business. - Generate and manage opportunities through outbound calling and messaging. - Travel across North America to meet with prospective customers, give sales presentations to corporate stakeholders, and provide high-level requirement analysis while touring their production facilities. - Support our technical development and implementation teams as they deliver our projects, ensuring our customers are always happy. - Nurture existing customers by upselling and cross-selling new products and services. - Demonstrate success by tracking leads added to our sales pipeline all the way from initial contact through Closed Business > Won - Attend tradeshows, seminars, conferences and other events where we can meet and engage prospective customers. - Meet monthly, quarterly and annual business objectives and metric-based targets. - Meet with our management team to review progress, discuss challenges, and opportunities. **WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR** - Bachelor’s or high-level degree preferred; relevant experience can be substituted for educational degree. - Related experience in business-to-business (B2B) tele-sales, business development, and/or other related experience. - Interest/experience in technology related fields is preferred. - Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to goal-oriented. - Full knowledge of working in the Microsoft 365 platform; familiarity working with a CRM system (i.e. HubSpot, Salesforce) - Committed to continuous learning, understanding the evolving sales and marketing ecosystem, and always eager to improve your craft. - Strong written and oral communication skills. **ABOUT MATRIX** Matrix Industrial Control Systems, Inc. is a proven leader in providing plant floor data collection and data integration systems to the North American food manufacturing industry. We put the right information into the hands of the right people at the right time so they can make the best decisions for their organizations. **ABOUT THE POSITION** - Full-time role - Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. - In-person position - our office is in Brampton, ON, located near Airport Road and Williams Parkway. - Paid vacation. - Employee health and dental benefits program (after three-month probation period).
