Job Title: Biochemistry Laboratory Technician

About us:
Canurta is a preclinical biotechnology company pioneering the production of effective and novel polyphenol-rich ingredients and products to support prevention and recovery across a spectrum of indications for humans and animals in the food, wellness and biopharma sectors. Canurta is the patent-holder of multiple processes which enable the production of rare, non-cannabinoid, non-psychoactive polyphenols derived from hemp, which are scientifically proven to target and inhibit inflammation and other mediators of disease at their source.

**Description**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment, for example, HPLC centrifuges, titrators, pipetting machines, and pH meters
- Conduct literature searches on identified topics relevant to the research and writes literature review summaries
- Follow and adhere to strict health and safety procedures and protocols
- Update and maintain detailed records of lab preparations and procedures
- Analyze results and maintain accurate records of experiments and results
- Perform equipment clean-up and housekeeping duties
- Perform other tasks as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education or currently enrolled in post-secondary education in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry or a related field
- Preferred experience with analytical instrument (HPLC)
- Analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical software to interpret experimental results
- Excellent organizational, record-keeping and time-management skills
- Ability to critically evaluate sourceThe expected duration of this job is 8-16 weeks, 35 hours per week.

**This job is dependent on receiving funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program.**
