**The Role**:
The General Foreman - mechanical is the right-hand person to the Superintendent. The General Foreman is the primary leader in the day-to-day activities on the jobsite and can effectively oversee the whole jobsite in the Superintendent’s absence. This role is filled by a confident leader who is a champion for T&S, builds others up around him, thrives under challenges, and finds ways to get the job done through his team.

Construction project locations will vary from AB, SK, MB, BC, ON. The position operates on a 2 weeks on 1 week off schedule. Benefit package, RRSP matching program, and subsistence (LOA) allowance are included.

**Responsibilities**:

- Knows and understands T&S safety standards and holds themselves and the crew accountable to them.
- Leader of leaders: you can effectively teach all positions new technical skills and you coach Foremen and Leadman on ways they can be more effective leaders themselves
- Effectively addresses issues and problems through Foremen and crew and doesn’t jump to fix the problem himself.
- Effectively assess talent and assigns people to the right crews and tasks depending on their strengths or opportunities to improve.
- Doesn’t shy away from hard conversations and has hard conversations with respect and clarity.
- Creates a jobsite culture of great training, hard work, accountability, and pride in quality.
- Demonstrate an ability to interview and effectively hire people to build a solid team.
- Committed to his own development and consistently asks for feedback.
- Act as the supervisor when on site when required.

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Welder preferred but not required.
- Must have knowledge of ag-industrial processing equipment and structural / steel erection.
- Must have knowledge of workplace safety legislation in MB, SK, AB.
- Must have Expert knowledge in reading drawing, be able to interpret drawings and relay information to crews assigned to you.
- Must have Expert knowledge of layout skills. Be able to reliably operate measuring devices such as transit, etc.
- Must have ability to define what tools, consumables, equipment, and materials may be needed for tasks at hand.
- Must have ability to keep schedule or offer input how to gain any lost days in schedule.
- A desire to continuously learn and utilize technology tools.

**Typical Physical Demands**:Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. A normal range of hearing and vision is required.

**Working Conditions**: Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Requires wearing protective and/or safety equipment. Requires working outdoors exposed to all weather conditions.

Pay: $40.00-$43.00 per hour
