The Role

We are seeking an experienced **Estate Law Clerk** with 5+ years of relevant experience to join our practice. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with one lawyer in a supportive, collaborative environment. The role offers flexibility in hours (either full-time or part-time at at 30 hours/week) and flexible work arrangements around core working hours.

**Responsibilities**:

- Draft, prepare, and file legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, notices of motion, and court forms related to estate litigation.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic litigation files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Manage court filings and service of documents in accordance with court rules and deadlines.
- Schedule court dates, mediations, and client meetings.
- Liaise with court staff, process servers, and opposing counsel.
- Assist in preparing for hearings, trials, and mediations by organizing evidence, exhibits, and case summaries.
- Manage probate and estate administration files from start to finish
- Draft wills, powers of attorney, and estate documents
- Prepare client correspondence and legal communications
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and respond to inquiries.
- Coordinate document execution and client follow-up
- Maintain accurate file documentation and timelines
- Handle invoicing, time tracking, and trust disbursements
- Manage client intake and supporting day-to-day office functions

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum **5 years of experience** in wills and estates law
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Proficient in legal software (e.g., Actionstep, Estateably, eState Planner or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario probate process and estate planning
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
