Applications are currently being accepted for a 13-month maternity leave position of Employment Coordinator, in the employment program, Cambridge Career Connections. This is a temporary contract position with an anticipated start date of October 14, 2025. The position involves a 35 hr/week schedule working five days a week. The hours are typically 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with the possibility of working up to 6:00 pm on Wednesday evenings. This position is based out of our Cambridge Office, reports to the Director of Community & Client Services (Youth & Employment), and works under the direction and support of the Senior Coordinator. The incumbent works closely with the Employment Services Team. JHSWW is a unionized workplace covered by a collective bargaining agreement between JHSWW and UFCW, which represents our employees. However, as this is a temporary contract role covering a statutory leave, it will not be included in the collective bargaining unit for the duration of the assignment.
**Responsibilities**:
**- Provide Integrated Employment Services to Jobseekers -**Complete a comprehensive intake assessment, identifying any barriers to employment and develop an individualized action plan. Provide ongoing individual counseling and support related to employment, training and education. Develop and facilitate employment and training related workshops as required.
- **Build and Maintain Relationships -**Establish and nurture connections with employers, often within a specific industry or geographic area.
- **Needs Assessment -**Understand the workforce requirements of employers, including their hiring needs, training preferences, and future workforce development strategies.
- **Promote Services-**Conduct community outreach to community services, schools and potential clients to market the agency and employment programs. Highlight to employers the benefits of training programs and services, such as Canada Ontario Job Grants (COJG) to upskill and retain employers.
- **Develop Job Opportunities-**Create new job roles and initiatives to meet the needs of employers and job seekers.
- **Onboarding Support & Communications-**Proactively address and resolve any issues that may arise between employers and new employees. Ensure clients are aware of and accessing all Ministry funded supports applicable to their needs. Connect clients to appropriate community services when additional supports required.
- **Data Collection and Reporting-**Implement program evaluation methods & data collection tools to meet funder and Agency expectations. Accurately input information into internal tracking systems in a timely manner. Track the progress of job placements and COJG training. Report on milestone dates.
**The following are essential knowledge, skills, abilities and requirements for this position**:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the social service, business, human resources or career development field
- 3 years’ experience in job development, employer outreach, employment counseling and/or recruitment preferred
- Understanding of labour market information and trends
- Effective networking skills
- Experience in business development, sales, recruitment and B2B recruitment is considered an asset
- Strong leadership and assessment skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated sound judgment and familiarity with effective problem solving and de-escalation techniques
- Strong motivational interviewing/intake skills; cross-cultural and diversity perspective and awareness
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Current clearance from a criminal records check. Must be able to meet criminal and other offense screening requirements necessary for the agency to maintain its service/funding contracts
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office® including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word, client file management software; internet search tools; and use of virtual meeting/service platforms
- A valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle and insurance are required
**Compensation Package**:
The current starting rate for this position in $29.88 per hour; Additional benefits or payment in lieu of benefits is to be determined.
