The HR Assistant will work under the direction of Beta-Calco’s HR Generalist and COO to support all HR functions and programs for the company’s employees. In this role you will be involved in growing Beta-Calco’s talent pool and improving sourcing tactics by coordinating recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding new employees. As an HR Assistant you will also administer the company’s benefits plan and oversee issues related to training, and health and safety. In this role you will also be responsible for entering and maintaining records and providing administrative support to both the HR and Customer Service team as required.

**Note **:This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Full cycle recruitment : preparing and posting Job advertisements, screening resumes, updating the recruitment tracker, and coordination of interviews in order to match the right talent to our open roles.
- Onboarding of new employees to ensure a positive experience
- Develop and maintain relationships with college and university placement offices
- Provide benefit orientations and enrollment for new employees, and act as a liaison between employees and insurance providers (Beneplan)
- Participate on the Health & Safety Committee to administer employee health and safety plans and educate employees on company policies
- Coordinate and administer training such as AODA, Violence and Harassment etc.
- Preparing new employee files, collecting all relevant employee information and ensuring background and reference checks are completed
- Serve as a point person for all new and existing employee questions and requests
- Work with HR Generalist to coordinate the tri-annual performance management review process
- Maintain current HR files and databases updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records.
- Assist with, plan and/or coordinate work events
- Support other HR functions as assigned
- Order Entry Desk Support for the Customer Service Team

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- 1 year of HR Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred (Certificate in Human Resources).
- Obtained or working towards CHRP designation.
- Strong Excel, Microsoft Word and Google Suite
- High attention to detail, and willing to take initiative and work independently when needed.
- Reliable with personable and positive demeanor. Enjoys working with a diverse range of individuals and ensures employee requirements and needs are met first.
- Professional integrity, sense of responsibility and accountability with the ability to handle data with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent collaborator and attentive listener with strong interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.

**Salary**: From $45,000.00 per year
