Flynn Group of Companies is currently looking for an Estimator to support our Vancouver Branch located in Surrey, BC (Office Location - 19175 - 22nd Avenue, Surrey BC V3Z 3S6), reporting to the Chief Estimator. **A Day In The Life**: - Complete take-offs/estimate or assigned projects - Follow up on multi-scope or single-scope projects - Attend pre-bid & post-bid meetings - Complete work orders & prepare material order sheets - Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers - Negotiating contract price/award price with clients - Participate in initial handoff meetings, production meetings and project autopsies. - Visit job sites - Consult, communicate, and build rapport with internal departments **What We Offer**: - Competitive wages and benefits - RRSP Matching - Great environment where our motto is "Flynn Family Winning Together" - On-going career development programs through our in-house Flynn University and eLearning courses **What We Are Seeking**: - 3 to 5 years’ Estimating work experience; experience in the Building Envelope (Glazing, Metals/Roofing) industry is an asset. - Architectural Technology Diploma, Estimating Certificate, education in a related field or equivalent work experience - Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications - Strong communication and organizational skills - Ability to work in a fast paced team environment - Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask - General Building Envelope knowledge - Sales skills - Background in Building Science - Basics of AutoCAD **Position Summary**: - Location: Vancouver, BC - Employment Type: Office, Salaried, Full-time - Job Functions: Estimating - Industry: Building Envelope CANRO - Keywords: ICI, Estimating, Vancouver, Construction, Architectural Products, Glazing, Metals, Commercial Flynn Group of Companies is the leading trade contractor in North America that works on virtually every aspect of a building’s outer layer, including roofing, glazing, waterproofing, and architectural metals.
