**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations on dogs and cats to assess health and diagnose medical conditions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for a wide range of conditions, including internal medicine, dermatology, and chronic disease management.
- Perform routine surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, and dental cleanings (additional soft tissue surgery skills are a plus).
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and other preventive care treatments.
- Provide emergency and critical care to patients requiring immediate attention.
- Educate pet owners on wellness care, nutrition, behavioral issues, and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver efficient and compassionate care.
- Stay current with developments in small animal veterinary medicine through continuing education.
**Skills & Qualifications**
- DVM or equivalent degree and licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice veterinary medicine.
- Experience in small animal general practice, urgent care, or internal medicine preferred.
- Proficiency in handling and restraining cats and dogs safely and humanely.
- Familiarity with common diagnostic tools such as digital radiography, in-house lab equipment, and dental units.
- Surgical experience in routine procedures for dogs and cats is strongly preferred.
- Strong client communication skills with a commitment to education and empathy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and familiarity with small animal anesthesia protocols.
- Experience with companion animal dentistry is a plus.
