**Position Summary**:
This course will explore the implications of AI technologies for our governance systems and policy frameworks. From understanding the basic principles of AI and its evolution, to engaging with complex issues like algorithmic bias and privacy concerns, this course offers a comprehensive look at both the promise and challenges AI brings to our democratic governance systems. Using real-world case studies, students will analyze how AI systems are changing the economic, societal and ethical context in which policy-makers operate, and how existing and new governance and policy approaches might be employed to ensure the responsible and responsive deployment of AI technologies.
