For over 20 years, Rotating Planet Productions has been dedicated to producing impactful and visually rich documentaries. From My Family Farm (2014) to Breaking the Ice (2001), Animals’ Golden Age (2018), Animals’ Social Networks (2020), and Prehistoric Quebec (2024), our work has been broadcast on CBC, Documentary Channel, Télé-Québec, Bravo Canada, and other major platforms. We are passionate about science, nature, and exploring the world through a unique lens.

We are looking for a curious, meticulous, and science-passionate content researcher to contribute to the development of our documentary projects. You will work closely with the production team to enrich content, propose innovative approaches, and coordinate the participation of expert guests for the upcoming filmed interviews for our three ongoing films.

Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with coordinators and management to define content goals for projects in development
- Conduct in-depth research on a variety of scientific and current topics
- Identify, contact, and coordinate participation of interview guests (scientists, experts, stakeholders)
- Propose and refine concepts, episode content, and original ideas related to the project themes
- Stay up to date on scientific developments and maintain a strong understanding of issues related to wildlife, flora, the environment, etc.
- Participate in the creation of pitch documents, summaries, and fact sheets

Desired Profile
- Postsecondary degree in a scientific field (biology, ecology, environmental science, etc.)
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English (French is an asset)
- Creativity and storytelling skills to engage audiences
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Self-motivated and team-oriented
- Strong interest in current events, science, nature, animals, and documentary filmmaking
- Ability to meet tight deadlines

Description du poste

Nous sommes à la recherche d’un-e recherchiste curieux-se, rigoureux-se et passionné-e de science pour contribuer au développement de nos projets documentaires. Vous serez appelé-e à collaborer étroitement avec l’équipe de production pour alimenter le contenu, proposer des angles innovants et coordonner la participation d’expert-es pour les futures entrevues filmées de nos 3 films en cours.

Responsabilités principales
- Collaborer avec les coordonnatrices et la direction pour définir les objectifs de contenu des projets en développement.
- Effectuer des recherches approfondies sur divers sujets scientifiques et d’actualité.
- Identifier, approcher et coordonner la participation d’invité-es (scientifiques, expert-es, intervenant-es) aux entrevues.
- Proposer, approndir des concepts et contenus d’émissions et des idées originales en lien avec les thématiques abordées.
- Suivre les avancées scientifiques et maintenir une compréhension à jour des enjeux liés à la faune, la flore, l’environnement, etc.
- Participer à la création de documents de présentation, résumés et fiches informatives.

Profil recherché
- Diplôme postsecondaire dans un domaine scientifique (biologie, écologie, environnement, etc.).
- Excellentes habiletés rédactionnelles et communicationnelles en anglais (français, un atout)
- Créativité et sens de la narration pour capter l’attention du public.
- Sens de l’organisation, rigueur et capacité à gérer plusieurs dossiers en parallèle.
- Autonomie et esprit d’équipe.
- Intérêt marqué pour l’actualité, la science, la nature, les animaux et le documentaire.
